  • obtain a Christian vision about marriage
  • learn realistic and practical tools to build and strengthen your marriage
  • view problems as opportunities to serve your spouse
  • communicate effectively and manage conflict
  • overcome hurdles that make you incapable of “moving forward” towards healing
  • build or restore trust
  • renew appreciation and affection
  • release and heal old baggage
  • learn to forgive as God forgives, and
  • build and maintain a strong foundation for marriage.

How the Process Works

First, both spouses must be wanting and willing to work on the marriage. Too often we receive calls where only one spouse is interested in doing this. Unfortunately, in these cases there is not much we can do other than to pray for the other spouse’s change of heart.

For those desiring to work together to build and strengthen their marriage, however, there is hope and help through this time-tested program. The first step is to contact The Alexander House, via this e-mail:  coaching@thealexanderhouse.org.

After a couple’s application is approved, we typically ask that both spouses meet with our marriage coaches once a week for the first three weeks. This can be done in person (ideally), and/or by phone.  After those three sessions, the couple is asked to take about a month to put into actions the knowledge and skills they’ve received at that point.

Next, a fourth session is arranged to evaluate the couple’s progress. If the marriage coaches feel that additional sessions are needed, it will be discussed at this time.
